Skills

Over the past 15 years, I've progressed from an education in Product Design to take leaderships roles as Head of Design at the world's second largest poker room, Design Studio Manager at Europe's largest airline and Director of Product with an esports betting startup. I've learned many lessons and skills on my journey.

As a designer, I've mastered design software including Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Motion software, video editing (Adobe Premiere) as well as HTML/CSS coding.

As a UX Designer, I have a strong foundation in user-centered design, and extensive experience in task analysis, user-persona generation, service mapping, journey mapping, conversational UX, user flow analysis and other methodologies.

I've honed world-class skills in graphic design, typography, colour-theory and branding. I've developed strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and studied UI and UX fundamentals.

I learned the technical skills required to take a project from customer research and paper-prototyping through to visual specifications, high-fidelity wireframes and pixel-perfect sprites,

As a project manager, I learned soft skills to collaborate across complex corporate environments and to plan roadmaps and work with senior stakeholders.

As department head, I learned the core skills of team leadership, motivation, mentoring and creative direction. I learned the challenges of managing upwards - ensuring that expectations are managed and budgets are protected. I learned the responsibilities of managing sideways, and ensuring that relationships with other departments are fostered and maintained.

Above all, I learned to understand how a design team can fit within a large technical organisation, and the importance of being the link between the needs of a business and the workings of a creative studio.
